Il y fit campagne jusqu&rsquo;au 16 avril 1917, date \u00e0 laquelle, apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu la Croix de Guerre pour sa conduite \u00e0 Verdun, il fut d\u00e9tach\u00e9 au 1er Groupe d&rsquo;Aviation.<\/p><p>Le 5 juillet 1917, il obtient son Brevet de Pilote aviateur apr\u00e8s un examen pass\u00e9 au Crotoy. Il fut ensuite affect\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole d&rsquo;acrobatie de Pau o\u00f9 il forma de tr\u00e8s nombreux pilotes de chasse.<\/p><p>Ses qualit\u00e9s d&rsquo;instructeur-moniteur et sa ma\u00eetrise parfaite \u00e9taient telles, que malgr\u00e9 sa demande, il ne fut pas affect\u00e9 en Escadrille et dut continuer \u00e0 instruire des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations d&rsquo;aviateurs.
